The Riding Company are now giving a helping hand to The Brooke, the charity who ensure the welfare of sick horses across the globe.
The Brooke is the UK’s leading overseas equine welfare charity, whose aim is to improve the lives of horses, donkeys and mules working in the poorest parts of the world. These animals form the backbone of the economy in many developing countries, supporting countless poor communities where many people earn less than a dollar a day.
The Brooke’s mobile vet teams and community animal health workers, and their partner organisations worldwide, provide free treatment to animals and train animal owners, local healers, farriers, saddlers, feed sellers, harness and cart makers. They currently operate across nine countries in Asia, Africa, Central America and the Middle East.
Kat Tiefenthal, owner of The Riding Company said: ‘This is a really worthwhile cause, so we have decided to help The Brooke with a one-off donation, a £2 donation on behalf of every booking made, as well as helping to publicise their efforts on our website and blog.’
You can keep up to date with snippets of news and our involvement with The Brooke here on our blog.

If you’re worried about the impact your trips abroad might be having, The Riding Company are doing their little bit to combat global warming.
You can calculate the CO2 emission of your journey to one of our holidays at Climate Care and compensate for your ‘environmental footprint’. If you let us know how much it is we will be happy to pay this on your behalf.
The Riding Company works mainly with small family-run businesses in rural areas who are dedicated to preserving their environment and their traditional way of life. Austria has one of the highest levels of household recycling and organic farming in Europe. It also has some of the cleanest lakes, is 47% forested and produces nearly 70% of its energy from renewable sources such as water.
In the office, we use paper from sustainably managed forests and recycled material where possible.
We encourage you to travel onwards from your arrival airport by rail when possible, and will book seats on your behalf.

Being greeted by Shaolin monks, Lipzzaner horses and a world class golf resort may not be what you expect from a typical spa resort, but the Supreme Hotel in Austria is far from everyday.
Tucked away amongst stunning countryside just south of Vienna, the award winning five star spa hotel offers the largest private Lipzzaner stud farm in Austria.
Known for its historical castles and beautiful woodland, the dressage horses can be taken for hacks or carriage rides around 450 km riding trails on varied terrain around the Burgenland valleys.

After a long day riding; soothe aching muscles with a tailored, invigorating massage by the resident monk from the Shaolin Monastry in China. Classes in the Chinese martial art, Qi Gong and a form of Ashtanga Yoga especially adapted to riders’ needs are also on tap.
But if riding isn’t your sport, the resort holds some of the finest golf in the world at Europe’s first David Leadbetter Golf Academy. There are also squash and tennis courts on site. The Better Tennis Academy, ran by Gery Riedl, former coach of Venus and Serena Williams offers private and group tuition.

But if the thought of all that exercise sounds far too tiring, a tranquil haven can be found at the Yin-Yang Spa.
As just one of two spa hotels in Austria to be awarded top marks for its wellness facilities, the resort is built around natural hot water springs with thermal water – perfect for boosting energy and increasing immunity.

The Supreme Hotel is located in Bad Tatzmanndorf, Austria and accessible from the UK by flights to Vienna-Schwechat Airport (130km from the resort) and Graz-Thalerhof Airport (90km away). Prices start at £510 for a four day break.
